The Declutter Challenge

I am no minimalist by any means. My house doesn't have a set theme, my pantry isn't all labeled and my closet is in need of some major TLC. Overall, my home is in dire need of a clean out - we just don't have the storage or the space for all our things. Things tend to just pile up in places around the house, so no matter how hard I try I never feel like I'm getting on top of things. I've thought about getting a skip and just chucking everything out- but with 2 little ones around and a shift working partner it's all become a little too much to plan. Instead, I've decided to break it down into small, daily declutter challenges.

I've seen so many people on YouTube and Pinterest take part of the 30 day declutter challenge, but honestly the idea of decluttering an entire room, wardrobe or cabinet every single day is overwhelming in and of itself. But I'm so sick and tired of making excuses to myself, so instead I've decided to do a modified, simplified version. This will (hopefully) set me one step closer to being more environmentally conscious, save some money and help with both mine and my families mental health and quality of life.

My goal is to simply donate, sell, throw out or upcycle 3 items every day for 30 days.
That's it. Just 3 things. That could be gather up and shred/throw out a bag of old paperwork. It could be donate the extra whisk sitting in my kitchen draws, it could be get rid of all the chipped mugs and plates- who knows! Each day I'll just tackle 3 things I feel like I can tackle that day. Each week I'll share with you the little (or BIG) things I've done over that week. Some day's I may be able to tackle more, some days I'll just do the bare minimum to get by. ANY progress is GOOD progress!

I'm looking forward to seeing the difference this challenge brings and would LOVE it if you would like to follow along with my journey! Let me know your decluttering tips and tricks!

Until our next Coffee and Chat;
<3 Elise xx
